You do not need to guess. Four checks, from one minute to ten, show what an assistant gets from your website today.
directindex.org/scan: one minute, no sign-up. It fetches your homepage as a browser and as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, reads robots.txt, looks for structured data, the menu and the booking or ordering path, and gives a score out of 100 with what to fix first.
curl -A "GPTBot/1.2" -I https://yourbusiness.com/ shows the status an AI crawler gets. 200 is fine; 403 or a challenge means a bot rule. Where the switch is.
View source, then search for your opening hours and for application/ld+json. If the hours are only in an image or appear only after scripts run, crawlers do not see them.
With web search on, ask ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini "where do I book a table at Your Business in Your City" and look at the link they give. This site runs the same question on the top businesses of each city index and publishes where each assistant sends people.
All three crawlers get a 200, the source carries a structured-data block with address, phone and hours, the menu is a page with prices, and the booking or ordering page is on your own domain with real date, time and party-size controls. That is an A on this site, and most A sites are ordinary WordPress or Wix sites that kept those four things simple.
Start with the scanner; Run the free scanner on your address: the report names each crawler that was refused, what it found for the menu, the structured data and the booking path, and what to fix first. Rescans are free.
