Terms of use
Plain terms for a plain service
The Direct Index is run by Antonio Curado from Brussels, Belgium. Using the site, the API, the MCP server or the A2A agent means you accept these terms. Last changed 2026-10-15.
What the service is
- Measurement, published. We scan public business websites, ask AI assistants about them through their APIs, and publish the results as scores, findings and lists. The method is public at /methodology. Scores are provisional where a component is pending, and they are never for sale.
- Open data. Business listings come from OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL licence, and our results are published under the same licence with attribution. You may reuse them under its terms.
- Free to read. Reports, city indexes, the API, the MCP server and the A2A agent need no account. New scans are limited per address and per API key; reads are not.
What you agree to
- Use the scanner on sites you may lawfully look at; we fetch public pages only, respect robots.txt, identify our crawler and never submit forms or place orders.
- Do not overload the service or try to get around its limits; keys and access can be withdrawn for abuse.
- Claims, corrections and plan purchases are made by people who own or act for the business; a correction we cannot verify is shown as such.
Paid products
- The deep report (one-off), the owner plan (monthly) and the agency plan (monthly) are sold through Stripe; prices include VAT where it applies and are shown before payment. Plans renew monthly until cancelled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. A deep report that cannot be written is rerun or refunded.
- Nothing you pay for changes a score, a rank or a listing. Verification marks state a test and a date.
What we promise, and what we do not
- We keep the method public, label what is provisional, and give every business page a free rescan and a dispute form. Language stays factual: a site is "not reachable by agents", never "bad".
- Results are a snapshot of a dated moment, produced automatically; the assistants' answers are their own words. We make no guarantee that a result is complete or current, and we are not liable for decisions taken on it, within the limits the law allows.
- We may change or stop any part of the service; paid products are refunded for the unused part if we stop them.
Privacy, contact, law
What we keep and what we do not is at /privacy. Questions, disputes and notices: hello@directindex.org. Belgian law applies, with the courts of Brussels competent, without prejudice to the rights consumers have where they live.
