Go to homepage Welcome Events Stories Our Communities BCUSU is proud to support students from underrepresented groups. Use this page to find out how to get involved with Black History Month at BCU and in Birmingham! "Black History Month is one of the many periods in the year we can come together to celebrate the rich and versatile history of the Black community across Britain. Over centuries the Black community has built, innovated and guided change and progress across these isles. From Henry Jetto to Margaret Busby, Harold Moody to Simbiatu Ajikawo, Doreen Lawrence to Akala – There is an endless list of figures who have contributed greatly to what Britain has become. The 2026 Black History Month theme is Honouring Our Communities. In recognition of this, BCUSU has organised several events to bring our students together, to spark dialogue and support their aspirations through a Lunch Time Social, an Open Mural and Careers Evening. In BCU and beyond, show up, take part and give a hand to your community." Vice President Welfare | Khadija Bashar Useful r
